I know this phrase has been a round for a while. And perhaps it's a bit over-done now, but that doesn't make it any less true.
I can't even begin to count how many times this phrase has been said or could have been said in my life lately. Sometimes we just can't get around or change certain things. They just are.
It's all in what we DO with this thing that is happening. It is what it is, but how are we going to react to it? Something to think about for sure.
7 Whaddaya have to say about this post?:
Hey that phrase made it towards the top of the most annoying words or phrases. Whatever is #1.
I hate to say it, but I'm almost getting tired of hearing that it's how I react to my circumstances that matters. Although I know that's totally true, it still doesn't change the circumstances any. It's just so frustrating... Know what I mean? :/
Heck YEAH!! I do know exactly what you mean Nancy. I make these quotes to help myself remember what I SHOULD do, but that doesn't mean I feel like it!
But...and don't shoot me for this...
Following Sister Hinckley's advice, I'd rather laugh than cry because crying gives me a headache.
But the nice part is, we do have the POWER to choose whether to stay frustrated or try to move forward and be positive.
Still, when I'm really down about something, the last thing I want to think about is how I'm supposed to be positive instead of negative about it! :)
So true! Sometimes we can't control what's going on. The only thing we can ever control is ourselves!
But I've been trying to handle things positively for SO long and it hasn't changed anything! grrrrr....
Shouldn't that count for something?
Feels like it should Nancy. But I guess I keep remembering Pres. Hinckley's advice....try a little harder, to be a little better. I guess I think it could mean to try a harder to FEEL better too.
I'm not above punching my pillow a few (dozen) times when I feel like it though.
