Talk about some GOOD MAIL!

This is a rare gesture from my husband, so I'm soaking it up and letting it sink in. I know he means the things that are printed in this card and probably feels them every day. But to tell me in this way isn't something he usually does. And it's not even Valentine's Day yet! We don't really celebrate V-day anyway, so that makes this card all the more special.

He is in Boston on business and somehow, before he left, he hid this card for me to find.

Of course, I had to make a scrap page out of it right away.

I'm hoping to plug my husband's new concept :)

Now, for those of you who would like to read a wife's excitement over her husband's, "other woman", as he calls it, then keep reading. He calls the machine that because he has spent countless hours designing, building, improving and selling this machine. All of which cuts into family time, but for a good cause.

How did it come to be?
Years ago he had a grand idea...you know, one of those ideas that no one else had thought of before that just might be the next big thing. Commercially that is. It might not be the biggest thing to an ordinary housewife, but it might be to her husband if he owns a commercial lawn company or a golf course! -wink-

Introducing....Hurricane Blo-Vac. The worlds only stand-on riding blower/vacuum.

I'm sure you've seen lawn care companies pulling around that little blower to clean up leaves in the fall. Heck, you might even own one of those, but you are more likely to own a backpack blower. Those work for small areas, but to get the small job done faster or tackle the big dog areas, more power is needed. The Hurricane Blo-Vac will blow those leaves to kingdom come! ~19 years~

As of today, I've been married to my favorite person for ~19~ years!

I can list a zillion reasons why I love him, but I'll try and come up with 19 meaningful reasons just for this post (not in any particular order):

1. He's so darn handsome (my children are gagging with that one)

2. He loves me no matter what I look like (you haven't seen me sick as a dog with unwashed hair for days, but HE has!)

3. He has a goofy side that makes me laugh.

4. He bore his testimony recently and made me cry.

5. We both like to watch the Fury hockey games, but that's the only sport that we like.

6. He makes fabulous chocolate shakes!

7. He gives the best massages..especially foot massages.

8. He does silly things like buying 56 boxes of cereal because it was a good deal.

9. I love his drive to achieve goals...he has an invention that he gave up his job for and is really close to marketing it. I support his dream 100%.

10. He is always telling me he loves me, kissing me, telling me my freckles are beautiful and so are my saggy baggies! (fyi...I consider my saggy baggies to be all the stuff that used to be flatter or was north of where it is now!)

11. He cracks my back for me every day! Heaven knows I need it. If it doesn't get cracked, it hurts badly.

12. It's a comforting feeling when I see him play with Ava, which is often! Comforting even when he teases that he is going to wake her up just to play! Grr.

13. He surprised the kids by playing Monopoly with them even though he had a busy schedule.

14. He loved me enough to be sealed in the Temple.

15. He works his buns off to make sure we have the necessities in life.

16. We have learned how to better communicate and get along pretty darn well most of the time (I'm quickly knocking on wood!)

17. He can fix just about anything. He says he is a jack of all trades, but master to none. I disagree. He excels at everything he does. He could master anything if he wanted to. I'm being truthful!

18. This is a big one....He carried our son in his arms all the way back to the funeral home from the hospital in GR. He dressed him and placed him in his casket. When it came time, he placed his casket in the ground. He did this because he felt it was the only thing he could do as a Father for him besides love him in his short time on earth. He held me up when I thought I would fall. All with the strength he never knew he had.

19. I love him because he was made just for me. He has his faults, but so do I and I don't regret any minute of the 19 years we've been married :)

Cereal City!

I love my husband.....he's a handsome goof that tends to go overboard when there is a good deal. In this case, he saved us tons of money, but now we are stuck eating varieties of Frosted Flakes and Mini Wheats for a year! I'm not complaining. We all love those cereals.

Here's what happened: He went to our local (over-priced) grocery store late one night to get some milk and other things on sale. He came back with several boxes of the cereal because they were only $2 a piece. I noticed with the receipt was one of those coupons. It said that we get $10 off our next shopping order because he bought 7 boxes of the Kelloggs cereals. Cool, I thought. So I mentioned it to him. His eyebrows went up and out the door he went. He took the $10 voucher/coupon thingie and bought more cereal. He ended up going thru the check-out several times in a row using the $10 vouchers each time. The check-out girl must have thought he was nutz. We ended up with 56 boxes of cereal!


So how much did he actually spend on 56 boxes of cereal? Remember they were $2 a piece. Buying 7 boxes at $2 each is $14. Minus the $10 voucher is $4 for 7 boxes. 7 into 56 is 8. So 8x$4= $32. Considering that normally each box was priced at $4 alone when not on sale, we saved a bundle! Good boy hubby.

Oh, and we get some freebies to boot.


With 6 'tokens', I figure I can get about 6 of these cheapo FM radios and give them out to my great nieces and nephews for gifts.

I love a deal and apparently so does my hubby.

Now I just need a bigger pantry to keep all this cereal! *sigh*
