Check your nearest vending machine! Or head to Walgreens. You have to try these. I went to Walgreens and stumbled upon these BK potato snacks. They were selling Ketchup & Fries flavor and Flame Broiled flavor potato snacks. The price was 2 for $3.00. Not too bad, but how would they taste? I was cautious to say the least. I always seem to get excited about a product only to be let down after tasting it.
Not this time! We tried the Ketchup & Fries first. I might add that we didn't even get the bag home before ripping it open for a taste test.
The BK snacks are a little thicker than a potato chip. The texture of these potato snacks are like Keebler Tato Skins. Remember those? I believe Meijer here in Michigan still sells them. The BK snacks are shaped like a flat french fry with a bit of red powdery season (ketchup) on them.
As for the taste? They kind of DO taste a bit like a french fry with ketchup! Shocker. It's not like actually eating a french fry, but it's close. My family really liked them. I had to hide the bag.
Next we tried the Flame Broiled potato snack.
We didn't jump up and down for this one. I could tell that they tried to make it taste flame broiled, but it didn't measure up to the ketchup one. It didn't have a meat taste, but the bag never implied that it did. I've never had a flame broiled french fry, so I'm not too sure what BK was trying to do. It almost tastes like a barbecue chip in a way. I doubt we will buy that one again. We will stick with the Ketchup & Fries and call it good. :)
By the way, each bag was 5.5 oz and are trans fat free. Not fat free, but I did hear they might market some 100 calorie versions soon. They also make a small bagged version for vending machines.
Sorry I missed Try it Tuesday last week. Christmas is a very busy time as you all know. I will be more diligent in the future.

Macie's a teenager now!
What am I going to do with ~*2*~ teenagers now?! Yikes!
My sweet little Macie Boosies is now an official teenager having turned 13 today. She has grown up a lot in the last 6 months. She does NOT like Hannah Montana any longer. Oh no, she is beyond her. Now she is into top 40 music and IM'ing with her friends. No more cartoons...just bring on the telephone. -sigh-
I'll miss my little girl, but I'll now enjoy the young woman she is becoming.
*~*~Happy Birthday Macie~*~*
EDIT***One more thing I forgot to add about Macie turning 13....she is super excited that she can now sit in the FRONT SEAT of our van! She is old enough and weighs 2 pounds over the recommended weight. Weeeeeee!

New Nephew!
I have a new nephew!
Denver William Bertram was born last Wednesday, December 10th. Isn't he just adorable? He is my brother Kim and his wife Amber's 3rd child. Kim also has 3 other fabulous older children including this handsome guy.
Denver was born on my grandmother's birthday. She has been gone since 1991. For some reason, I thought about her all day on Wednesday. I guess she didn't want me to forget that the new baby was going to share her birthday. She would be 102!
Having Denver here is awesome, but it's also a little sad knowing he will be the last niece or nephew on my side to be born. Sure, there will be plenty more great-nieces and nephews, but no more kids from me or any of my 7 siblings. We are all old and so I guess it's time to be finished with our procreation. :)

Aroma Glow Lamps
Not a food review this time.
In case you didn't read in my previous Try It Tuesday post, I am a Bzz Agent. I receive free samples of products to try and then I give them my opinion. These Aroma Glow lamps were my latest freebie. I received one lamp....
this one below...
It came with a vanilla fragrance cartridge. You can buy these lamps here. Or you can find them at Wal-mart, Ace Hardware or Meijer (plus other stores...check out the website). I believe they are priced between $10-$15. You can also buy fragrance cartridges separately.
Ok, so here is some info about these lamps from their official website, Lamplight Farms:
• Effective fragrancing
• Longlasting fragrance
- burns up to 25 hours
• Sootless and smokeless • No wax mess
• No need to trim wick
• Pre-set wick with a constant
flame height
• No waste – burns 99%
complete
• Economical/refillable
• Decorative and giftable
Soooo....my thoughts on this lamp? Honestly, I don't really like it all that much. First of all, they have several designs to choose from, but there aren't many that I actually like. The one they sent me is ok, but not something I would have chosen. I might have chosen this one though:
...as a Christmas gift that is. Check out the website to see the other styles. Each one is only available at certain stores.
I liked how the oil is supposed to last a long time and also that there is no soot or wick to trim. The vanilla fragrance was ok at first, but after awhile the smell got to me. Even this kids kept asking when they could blow it out because it was, "stinking" up the house. My kids usually love it when I light candles. Maybe I could try another fragrance using the coupons they sent me. I think I should give it one more shot. I'll check them out at Meijer next time I'm there.
Now let me jump back a bit...before I even lit the thing, I had to read the instructions on how to put the fragrance jar in the lamp. It wasn't too hard, but I couldn't understand why I had a round piece of metal sitting in the box. It seemed to have no use. Then I finally realized that it had a bit of glue on it. It had fallen off the main part of the lamp. Ok, problem fixed. I just didn't use it which makes me wonder what the purpose was for that piece to begin with.
The biggest problem that I don't care for with this lamp, is that the oil can't be stored with the lamp. A person would have to take it out and put the original plastic cap on to store it. I'm lazy. I don't like to worry about things like that. First of all, I'd have to put the cap somewhere while the lamp is in use. Then to screw it back on and store it away from the lamp is just a hassle to me. Boy, I sound like a whiner don't I? Sorry. I'm just so used to my Yankee Candles or Woodwick which only have tops to place back on when I'm finished.
The next big problem I have with these lamps is that the oil can be harmful to children. Yes, any candle can burn someone, but oil can be fatal.
I hate to give bad reviews, but if this company would do the following things.....I might like their product a bit better......
#1: Make their lamps in more desirable styles. Have better designs and even better shapes to their lamps. The shape seems a bit outdated.
#2: Not make a lazy person like me have to take the oil cartridge out of the lamp every single time I'm done with it. Plus, I got my fingers a bit oily while doing it. I'm a lazy and messy person I guess.
I will update when I try another fragrance, but until then, I say thumbs down to this wannabe Yankee Candle lamp. On the plus side...I do think the price which seems to be about $10-$15 isn't so bad for what it is. Especially when compared to pricey candles from specialty shops.
Has anyone else tried these? Do you have a positive review to share? Let me know :)
P.S....I know I haven't done any personal blog posts lately. I will try when I can. I've been sick and also busy with the holidays looming ever so close. Plus, my camera is still broke and I am still using Rick's laptop which means I lost my usual programs that I like to use when I'm blogging. *sigh*

Try it Tuesday.....Smuckers Uncrustables ~A KIDS REVIEW~
This post is a little late because the kids had school today and then we went to Molly's Christmas choir concert. She played a cute mouse in the Nutcracker. She did an awesome job. Dad missed it because he is snow plowing, so we bought a dvd that was made so he could see it at home.
Anyway, I waited for the kids so that they could do this review. Why not? Smuckers Uncrustables are meant for kids anyway right?
Before I let them take over, let me say that we were able to try these Uncrustables for free. Weeee! I am a Bzz Agent, so I try products and services and then give my feedback on them (www.bzzagent.com).
Uncrustables come in these flavors:
-PB & Grape Jelly
-PB & Strawberry Jam
-Cheese
-PB & Honey on Wheat (couldn't find this one in Meijer or Wal-mart)
-Peanut Butter
I also saw at the Uncrustables For School area that they will have a soy one coming out (might already be out somewhere).
Ok...enough of me...now for the kids review!
*Jillian* says:
(age 15)
Hey, since I get up for seminary. I pull the Uncrustable from the freezer, and it's unfrozen by lunch. Which is 12:04pm eek. I tryed the Strawberry and PB one when my mom first found them. [Which is my favorite!] Then I had a PB&Grape one today. I thought they were gonna be soggy but, there not :] The sides of the Uncrustable are harder than I would like though. :[ The bread is soft also :D I think that being a teenager, I'd love to have a PB&Marshmellow Fluff one.
*Brycen* says:
(age 10)
I like hockey and when I eat it, I get strength to play hockey and football. My favorite kind is strawberry. I like how they are frozen and you just take them and put them in my totebag and just go on the bus and wait until lunch time. And then it will be all thawed out and ready to eat. And I always want to take 2, but I take one because my Mom tells me to. I wish they were bigger so if I want to take 2, I would have one big one instead of taking 2. I want them to make one that has bacon in it or a BLT.
*Molly* says:
(age 11)
I like the Uncrustables. I like the grape one. I wish they had a smores one. I like the grape one because it's the same taste as the regular PB and J sandwich I can make at home. I like when I go to school, I can just heat it up. I like it hot. I want to try the grilled cheese one. I wish they had more flavors in a box, so I could just bring one to school and then when I come home, eat a different one.
*Macie* says:
(age 12)
They're good. I like the edges of the thing cuz it's squishy and hard at the same time. It doesn't let the insides out. It's easy to carry around. I like the PB and grape one. There is too much pb though in it. I want them to try and make a cotton candy or bubble gum one. They can also make, if they want, a chocolate one or snickers one so that it's a snack and a sandwich at the same time.
So there you have it. A kids review of Uncrustables. Boy, my kids want some strange concoctions don't they?! But hey, it's their opinion :)

Try it Tuesday.....Pillsbury Savorings Flaky Pastry Bites...Cheese and Spinach flavor
I had a coupon, so I was just waiting to spy these little appetizers at one of the local grocery stores. I didn't see them for a long time. Finally I found them, but had lost the coupon by then. They are kind of expensive at almost $4 a box, so I passed on them when I did see them. And,THEN, my local Meijer gave me a coupon to try them for FREE! Woot!
Pillsbury is always making products to tempt me. I'm a big, big carb eater (emphasis on BIG...big behind that is), so I really wanted to try the new Savorings Flaky Pastry Bites. They come in 3 flavors: Buffalo Style Chicken, Mozzarella-Pepperoni, and Cheese and Spinach. I figured the Cheese & Spinach would be my best bet. Don't get me wrong, I love anything made with puff pastry, but I'm not a big fan of buffalo flavored anything and I figured the mozzarella and pepperoni would taste too much like pizza. The cheese & spinach one sounds more like an appetizer-ish combo doesn't it?
There are 12 of these little cuties in a box. Individually, they aren't very big, but appetizers aren't supposed to be monsters. If I were to bring this appetizer to a party though, I'm sure I would need 2-3 boxes. So to me, the price is a little high. Bring it down Pillsbury and I will buy these more often! They are truly TASTY!
They are plump with just the right amounts of cheese and spinach. I can also really taste garlic, so if you like garlic, you will love these. If you aren't a fan, then you had better stay clear because like I said, I could definitely taste garlic.
Even my picky-eater kids tried these and liked them. We were all fighting over them, so we ended up having to split them up. Of course they wanted more. 12 small-ish appetizers don't go far with 5 people.
I bet I could get these cheaper at Wal-mart. I also wonder if they come in a larger size at say, Sam's Club or Costco?
I think I will try the mozzarella & pepperoni next time. Someone else can weigh in on the buffalo.
Now let me think....what other flavors would be tasty in these little puff pastries? How about crab & cream cheese? Artichoke? Bacon? Mushrooms? Oh the possibilities. And I wouldn't have to make them! Just knowing that I could buy something tasty to satisfy us all at a party, makes my cheese bubble! :)
As for the calories and fat....I didn't even look on the box before I threw it out...but something tells me I really didn't want to see it anyway. Hello? It's puff pastry and cheese.
Oh, if you would like a coupon for $1 off, visit the website here.
Next week, I hope to review the new Hershey Kisses....milk chocolate with MARSHMALLOW. Mmmm...those sound devilishly yummo. Something tells me I will find them at Target. Are they actually new? Or am I just behind on the times? Anyway, I've been a bad girl in the calorie and fat department lately and it shows.....but I have a feeling I won't find the willpower to get back to my normal routine until after Christmas. Bad, bad, bad.
Last but certainly not least....today is my niece Kara's birthday!
Happy Birthday to YOU Kara! Enjoy your day and be a little selfish by eating some chocolate and not sharing! Weeeee. Oh, and check your Facebook, I sent you some, "gifts". Luv you.

I Want Some MBT's!
MBT Shoes. The, "Anti-shoe"? Have you seen these shoes yet? I spied them in the Family Circle magazine today. I'm sure I've seen them before, but didn't know the benefits to having a pair.
While they are funky looking, they are the kind of shoe I would love to wear every day. I'd have a pair for casual walking and a pair for my Walk Away The Pounds workout. Heck, I'd wear them anywhere because of the health benefits.
They are designed to boost muscle activity in your legs and decrease stress on your knees and hip bones, providing relief for your joints.
Masai Sensor (Masai Barefoot Technology®) creates a pleasant feeling of walking on a sandy beach or soft moss.
I've read that some doctors are recommending the shoes for people who have back, hip, foot and joint problems. I have backaches all the time, plus my feet hurt. I'm sure it's because of my weight, but it didn't help that I fell at church recently and that I wore flip-flops all summer.
Anyway, these shoes are also designed to help promote good posture. There seem to be a zillion reasons for me to buy some of these shoes...but of course there is one reason that I can't. They are $200 and up per pair. Ouch.
Zappo's has many styles and occasionally they go on sale, but I still can't afford $177 for a shoe on sale. *sigh*
But I can dream about it right? These are the pairs I would buy if I could afford them. Aren't they great? Funky, but great!
I saw a girl wearing these with a skirt in the ads. Works for me!
These would be great for walking as a routine or on hikes.
They also sell sandals and boots. Plus, professional styles. I wonder if they make children's shoes? They would be so much better for their growing feet.
If you're interested in learning more about the benefits of this shoe, visit the website here. The website has a good amount of information plus it's a well-done site.
Annnnd....if you are interested in buying them from AMAZON, please search for them using the sidebar Amazon thingie's I have over there -------> :) Thanks!
P.S....Macie thinks these things are butt-ugly, so now I really wish I could afford them just to embarrass her.
Freebie Alert!
I saw that Lipstock is giving away a free sample of their Chapstock. Wha? Not Chapstick...it's Chapstock. It's a cream lip conditioner. Anyway, try it here.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Try it Tuesday.....Ice Breakers restore Pomegranate Lemon-Aid Mints
Mmmm. I've found a new snack to keep in my purse. Jillian pointed them out to me while we were in the check-out line in Meijer.
Of course we have all heard of Hershey's Ice Breakers. Their newest Ice Breakers product promises to give us vitamins with our candy. Yes, these are mints, yet the flavor is pomegranate with lemon. I like how the name says, "Lemon-Aid". Clever. The mints also come in a cute cream colored tin with a flip-top.
For a serving of 3 good sized mints (only 5 calories for all 3!!), they contain 10% of each of these vitamins: A,C,E & Zinc. Not too shabby. And they are tasty! I really like them. They are more lemon-y than pomegranate, but that's ok with me. They rock.
These mints contain NO sugar, but one bad thing...they DO contain sugar alcohols instead. Sometimes sugar alcohols give certain people digestive problems. But usually I fair well, so I'm not worried.
The new Ice Breakers line also carries an Energy mint, but I didn't pay it much mind because it contains caffeine.
We also tried Ice Breakers Chewy Sours in Strawberry Blast flavor. My husband brought those home for us to try. They are not gum. They are candy, but I wouldn't call them chewy. I think they are more rubbery-hard. Didn't like them so much. I would think the insides should be jelly bean consistency, but they are too hard. The outside shell is tasty with just the right amount of sour, but again, the inside isn't much to write home about. Luckily Brycen likes them (what kid would turn down candy anyway?!), so he took them tonight on his trip to New Jersey with Dad. He better feed my little boy more than just candy though! Why are they going to NJ you ask? They are delivering some Hurricane machines that a distributor bought. That means money in the bank. :) All I have to say is that they BETTER be back in one piece before we eat turkey on Thursday!

Try it Tuesday....
Sorry. Try it Tuesday is taking a little break today. I just have toooo much to do. I'll be back on track next week.
I sure wish I would get on the ball and make a bunch of posts ahead of time. I wouldn't have to apologize for no posts then. Ugh.

I'd love to show this to our Primary kids in the ward, but not sure how to get in on dvd. Isn't it great? And so uplifting in the midst of all the negativity I've been hearing lately.

It's NOT Christmas Yet!
I found this, "Flair" on Facebook.
With the exception of getting a headstart on shopping for gifts (I shop all year for Christmas gifts), is anyone else as sick of seeing Christmas displays, commercials and ads as I am? It's tooooo early!
Oh, and let's not forget the radio stations that started playing holiday music on the FIRST OF NOVEMBER! It's not even Thanksgiving yet! It's still fall! Poor Thanksgiving is soon to be phased out because of all the Christmas commercialism.
:( Way to ruin the true meaning of Christmas.

Did You Start Christmas Shopping Yet?
The Christmas shopping season is upon us!
I have decided to become an Amazon Associate. I am frequently trying to find ways to earn money or save money during the holidays. I thought if I became an Amazon Associate, I might be able to earn a little cash so that I can afford to buy some gifts for my family this year.
If you could help me out, I would MUCH appreciate it! No pressure though....just if you were thinking of ordering something thru Amazon, and you don't mind taking a detour, you can order the same things at Amazon by way of my site.
I will earn a percentage if you shop Amazon through my link on the right sidebar. The Amazon link goes right to my store where you can find any Amazon product. I will also earn if you shop Amazon through either the Deals box or Amazon Search box on the right sidebar. Amazon has some SUPER big steals and deals on toys during the Christmas season! I always shop for toys at Amazon every year.
Anyway, thanks for letting me plug my new venture and any time you want to order an Amazon product, please do it thru ME! :)
Thanks! :)

Try it Tuesday.....Joy's Best Loved Macaroni and Cheese
Flavorful pasta wrapped in a rich tangy cheese sauce with an optional panko bread crumb topping that takes this dish over the top!
It truly is a very good side dish or main dish if you so please. I have always loved panko bread crumbs. And they are tasty on top of this mac and cheese.
To prepare the mac and cheese, I first put the panko cumbs in a saucepan with some butter like the directions suggested. It called for 2 TB of butter, but I just spritzed the bread crumbs with some I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray. It worked just fine. I toasted the crumbs lightly. Next I poured the contents (macaroni noodles and chunks of cheese) of the frozen bag in an electric skillet. The noodles are already cooked, so I just threw it all in and heated it up for 6-8 minutes. It was super easy. As easy as making Kraft mac and cheese, but better. In case you're wondering, the cheese used is actually several different types: Club Cheddar,Blue and Swiss, and a cheese spread. When the mac & cheese was heated thoroughly and the panko crumbs toasted, I just tossed the mac and cheese in a serving dish and sprinkled it with the panko crumbs. Viola!
There are 3 negative things that I have to say about this easy peasy gourmet side dish.
#1.... There are only 3 (1 cup) servings in the whole package. I have a family of 7, so I'd have to buy atleast 2 to feed my family. If I wanted it as a main dish, I'd have to buy atleast 3 packages, maybe 4.
#2....This small package of yummy mac & cheese was expensive at my local Meijer store. Well, if you think $4.00 for 3 servings is expensive. I do because like I said in #1, I'd have to buy 2-3 packages. That could get expensive. I wonder if Sam's Club or Costco sells larger packages?
#3....Joy of Cooking mac & cheese is FATTENING! Go figure. For one serving (1 cup), it's 7 Weight Watcher points. Ouch.
I'd buy this again though. But only if it's on sale and with a coupon :)
Never heard of The Joy of Cooking?

I have noticed that I didn't post at all this past week since my last Try It Tuesday. I can explain. It's because I have found Facebook! While talking about it at a family event recently, I decided to get my own Facebook page so that I could see my nieces and nephews pages. I signed up on Thursday of last week (that's 5 days ago) and I have 48 friends now. I have several friends requests out too. I have been in touch with people I haven't talked to in over 20 years! I don't know what it is, but it seems like everyone I know is on Facebook. It's sooo great to see what everyone has been up to and meet their family via their Facebook photo albums. Plus, Facebook is more mature than Myspace, which is more for teenagers (in my opinion). Right now I'm a bit addicted, so I guess that's why I haven't blogged. Don't worry, blogging is in my heart first. I really enjoy journaling in my blog. But catching up with old friends is fulfilling too. I'm so grateful for the internet right now. How did we ever live without it years ago?! Yes, it has it's downfalls (and we all know what those are), but the positives outweigh the negatives for me since I have chosen to use the internet for good. :)

Try it Tuesday.....Crystal Light Immunity Cherry Pomegranate
I bought the, On The Go singles packets of the Crystal Light Immunity Cherry Pomegranate flavor. They boast that it's a vitamin enhanced drink mix. Only 5 calories per serving. But according to the packet, there are 2 servings in it. So 10 calories when you pour the entire packet into a 16 oz. bottle of water or a 2 cup glass of water. 10 calories is still good I guess.
As far as being vitamin enhanced, I guess it's better than drinking a can of soda, but I'm not sure it has better benefits than drinking plain old water. I guess I would drink this for the electrolytes.
The taste is great. I added it to the 2 cups of plain water. It was still a strong flavor, so I could have gotten away with adding more water. The only thing I wish Crystal Light (Kraft Foods) would take into consideration is the dye. The bright red is artificial and doesn't make me want to buy the product any more than if it were no color. I WISH it were no color. Especially since they consider it to be a, "healthy" drink mix. I would go natural with no color. Plus, it wouldn't stain if I spilled.
One thing I really like about Crystal Light drink mixes, is that it mixes so easily. No stirring forever trying to get the powder to dissolve. There is also no sediment on the bottom of my glass. Love it. Now, if they would just lower the price.....something to think about Kraft Foods! I can buy a store brand can of drink mix from Wal-mart about $2 cheaper. Granted, Wal-mart doesn't have vitamin enhanced mixes (that I have seen anyway), but they are cheaper. Even Meijer brand drink mix is cheaper by about a dollar, but again, those are store brands. They taste just as good in my opinion though.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
And now for another review........Honeycrisp APPLES!
FINALLY, I was able to try one! I don't know why I'm so behind the times. I just kept forgetting to buy them. While in Meijer recently, I ran across them. It's about time. Another shopper and I were trying to find a few that weren't bruised or too soft. That's not a good sign. So many people like these apples, that there just weren't that many left. Unless you count the organic ones that were about a dollar more per pound. Hey, Honeycrisp are expensive to begin with. I'm not paying $6 a pound for apples. The other shopper and I joked that the Honeycrisp are "Mommy's Apples", so no kid better try and steal it. Go eat your Gala's. I don't love my kids enough to share. ;)
In case you didn't know....
Honeycrisp apples were developed by the University of Minnesota from a Macoun and Honeygold apple cross (the Honeygold itself a cross between the Golden Delicious and Haralson). Honeycrisps new apple variety was introduced in 1991.
What did I think about Honeycrisp apples? Well, they live up to their name. They are crisp! I love the snap sound they make as I take a big bite. They are nice and big too. No tiny apple here. I did kind of expect them to be sweeter, but I think they have just the right amount of sweet and tart. Yet they aren't too tart. That's one thing that turns me off when I eat apples. If they are too tart, I can't handle it. Wimp.
I'd definitely buy Honeycrisp apples again. But I'm still not sharing. ;) Yum.
Next I need to try Grapples! One of these days I'll try those too. Anyone want to give their opinions of a Grapple?
Well, I'm off to ~VOTE~ now. I'm not afraid to say that I'm voting for McCain/Palin. I'm also not afraid to say I'm voting against legalizing marijuana (they can make a synthetic version) and against stem cell research. If I could vote YES on Proposal 8 in CA, I'd do that too.

Chocolate Is A Staple Right?
I forgot to blog about this yummy treat way back in August. Jillian went to the Barnes & Noble in San Diego right at midnight when the book, "Breaking Dawn" came out. They had a costume party etc. She knew I would have loved to be there with her and my sister, but of course I couldn't be, so she brought home yummy Godiva for me. I didn't open that baby for over a month. Can you believe it?! I told Jillian that when I finally decided to eat it, I would share some with her. Ummm....I did NOT share. I'm a bad mamma. I ate the whole thing and loved every bit. Eek! I'll make it up to her by taking her to the, "Twilight" movie the first night that it's out. Wanna come with us?
We read all 4 books over the summer. Which one was the best? My personal opinion was that Eclipse was the best. Which one was the least exciting? Twilight. Again, my personal opinion. The other 2 were good and you have to read them all to get the whole story. If you like discussions on the book, "Breaking Dawn" and the Twilight saga, you can check out the one from Mormon Mommy Wars back in August.
Here is the link.
Has anyone read, "The Host" also written by Stephenie Meyer? I heard one review that it wasn't as good as the person thought, but does anyone else have an opinion? Should I spend the money on it as a Christmas gift for Jillian?

Trick or Treat
My camera is still messed up, so Jillian used hers to take some shots. Ava is very much like a buzzing bee and doesn't sit still. So these shots are the best we could get. She had cute little antenna's on her head, but they kept flipping back, so it was hard to get them in the photos. Ugh. Plus she ate a sucker before she left (to keep her occupied so that I could put her costume on), so her hair and hands were sticky even before we left to trick or treat.
I love how The Munsters was on t.v. in the backround. Perfect for Halloween!
Geesh! Excuse the druggy look on my face in the background. Or maybe I just look evil. I'm not very photogenic.
Since the time change isn't until tonight, it was VERY bright outside when we first left to Trick or Treat. But that was good since there were so many trick or treaters to watch out for on the roads.
All tuckerd out (and stickier of course) on the way home. She fell asleep early after all this fun, so I'm sure she had a good time. :)
Jillian wanted to be a dead prom date. Scary! Even Ava couldn't keep her eyes off of her. I never used to let my kids be scary things for Halloween. Now that they are older, I guess I have decided to let them decide for themselves (within reason of course). Jillian is in the SADD group at school, so she says she wanted to look like she got hit by a drunk driver on prom night. She had a SADD message with a heart shape on her chest. Ok...I guess I can't complain about the scary part when at least she has meaning behind it right? Hmmm.
P.S......Today is my niece Christi's birthday! Hope you had an awesome day girlie!

Try it Tuesday.....Fiber One Toaster Pastries
Finally! I can write a review about these things! I've wanted to, but they just sat in my cupboard while I was sick. I'm still not up to par, but I finally did get to try the new pastries.
It seems like Fiber One is always coming out with new products doesn't it? I've already reviewed the bars and the muffin mix. I still need to review the yogurt, which I will do soon.
The Fiber One toaster pastries are found just about everywhere now. I found mine at Target for $1.99. Not too shabby. Wish I had a coupon tho.
I bought the strawberry flavored, but they also come in blueberry, brown sugar & cinnamon and chocolate.
How do they taste? Not too bad if I do say so myself. They have just the right amount of the frosting. Truthfully, I was expecting them to go cheap on that part. They are darker than regular Pop Tarts (because of the whole grain I'm assuming). They have about the same amount of filling in my opinion. I don't like the dryness of Pop Tarts and these Fiber One pastries are the same. I just eat the middle :) On the bright side, they don't fall apart like some store-brand toaster pastries do.
The Fiber One toaster pastries are 3 WW points for ONE pastry(in case you are counting).
These toaster pastries have 20% of the daily recommended value of fiber. I've been reading that Fiber One doesn't provide a natural fiber. Of course I knew that already. I wonder if it still does the same job as regular fiber tho? Some websites insist that it's not as effective as natural fiber. With fiber listed in the ingredients of my favorite foods, I get less Weight Watcher points, so I guess I don't care if it's not natural. :) If it's filling, then it works for me. (And no, I don't cheat and use fiber supplements or powders to lower my points in foods).
Fiber One toaster pastries are made with whole grain wheat flour. That is the first ingredient listed on the box. What's the 2nd? Corn syrup. Then water. Then sugar and high fructose corn syrup. Ok, so it's sugary. It's not exactly what I would call a health food even with the whole grains and fiber. Personally, I wouldn't eat these as a breakfast food. They are more of a dessert to me. They do contain 4 grams of protein.
If you are comparing the Pop Tarts brand whole grain toaster pastries, you will see that the Fiber One pastries have less calories (by 10), less fat (by one gram), less protein(by 2 grams) and the same amount of fiber. I've never tried them, so I can't compare the taste.
Oh, and one last thing. Usually Fiber One items give my digestive system a bit of trouble (backdoor trumpet playing anyone?), but these toaster pastries DO NOT, thank goodness! That's another reason I'd buy them again sometime.
